Master Bedroom Blue

So for the master bedroom I want it to be relaxing. Hence, wanting the furniture to be light. We have been trying to find a good color for the walls...we are thinking light blue. Not robin's egg blue, but more of a gray blue. Kind of beachy sky I suppose. Here are some I like online...

Just the wall color...not a fan of the chair

Not a fan of the pillows, but otherwise I like the gray walls and the silver lamps!

John thinks this is a little too light of blue...but I love the airy look of it

Night Stands

Want to know what is really hard to find used online? Nightstands. Sure, there are plenty of the huge, box-like, ornate ones out there. But I was wanting something tall enough for our king-sized bed that happens to be really tall. Plus, I wanted to be able to put everything away. I don't like having shelves or just a big cupboard. Everything gets to be put away, and I don't want to see it! Neither does John. He loves for everything to be put away and can't relax until it is. Me too :)

So last week I was looking on craig's list for the daily round- nightstands/night stands/ futon/couch set. And I found it- the nightstands that not only fit what I want, but they were ALREADY white (I was going to paint them white) AND they match the dressers we got. Same collection- but IKEA no longer sells them. Woohoo! So while John and I went off to the A's game on a date, his parents and the Zoo went and got them for us! I am so excited for them. Now our room will have the IKEA dressers (we haven't decided to use one or two in there yet...we are thinking one since there is one included in the walk-in closet. Those are yummy words!) So we got two perfect nightstands that I didn't even know existed for me to find, and for the price of one!

Here is the dresser. I have wanted it ever since my sisters each got one when my family moved. It is HUGE and combined with the closet, I will be able to fit all kinds of clothes! Woohoo! I am excited to be able to go through my pre-pregnancy clothes...hopefully I will fit into them not TOO long after baby!

Second Bathroom ideas

So for the second bathroom, I'm thinking this paint color...

With a vanity light kinda like this (or straight lines. Whatever goes with the knobs or pulls on the cabinet)

With a black cabinet like this...

With this IKEA shelf if there is room/need for it...maybe painted black or a rich dark brown...kind of the zen thing going on with gray, black and then natural material from the shelf. Picture some rolls of towels and a white orchid. However...if there isn't much room in there, then this would be the first to go.

With this IKEA shower curtain. This would be the kids' bathroom as well as the guest bathroom. One problem with guest bathrooms is no one in the family uses them, so they don't see the needs for them. I like the bathroom to be one word: CLEAN! So I based my choices on things that look/feel clean. Then this is the punch of color that isn't too busy!

The Beginning

I'm starting this blog because I have so many files saved, sketches drawn, wish lists, and ideas floating around and figured I should document.
As of right now, we don't even have a house for all these lovely ideas to go into! We have been waiting over a month to hear about a short sale, and we have exactly 50 days from today until the due date of our second child. Everyday that passes gets closer to due date and farther from when we made our offer...but our hopes are alive that this house will still work, or that we can start the process over and find another house that is meant to be our home!
